Treatment required: Deeply dormant. 39wks stratification needed, at least 3mths moist warm followed by the same moist cold.
Scarifying the seed might speed germination up.

Ideal sowing period: Spring. Be prepared to wait a long time
Soil Conditions : Any well drained
Planting : Good for exposed or coastal sites, hedging and screening. Full sun to light shade.
